When someone we care about dies we can find it hard to understand what happens to us. Grief is the name we give to all of the things that we think and feel as we try to make sense of what has happened.

It feels nasty when it is happening and you are missing the person who died but – it is normal. Everyone grieves but not everyone shows this in the same way.


If we do not understand what grief is and how it affects us we can become worried and frightened. It is good to talk about how we are feeling with people who care about us but sometimes it is hard to know what to say and how to describe what is happening to us.
