Stand-by-me Bereavement Support makes a profound difference in the lives of bereaved children and their families in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage.
By offering tailored support services, we help young people navigate their grief in a safe and understanding environment. Our programs provide essential emotional support, allowing children to share their experiences with peers who truly understand their feelings. Through initiatives like our Young Ambassador program, we empower these young individuals to raise awareness about the needs of bereaved children while developing valuable life skills. By fostering a supportive community and providing resources, Stand-by-me ensures that no child has to face their grief alone, helping them look forward to a brighter future.
It has been a positive year for Stand-by-me and we have supported over 200 children, young people and their families.

Stand by me is a wonderful local charity that helped us through our bereavement when my husband passed away. It was so helpful for my daughter to know she wasn’t alone and that others were going through losses and she could talk in a safe environment. Stand by me have also stayed in contact with us over the years and they continue to support us ongoing. We are so grateful and blessed to have been supported by Stand by me. Thank you

I am still learning but with Stand-by-me and help from family, friends, my tutor, and those who stopped and tried to understand what I was going through I wouldn’t have achieved all of the things I have. I had to accept I couldn’t do everything myself and I had to ask for help.
