Every day, children and young people are navigating life after the devastating loss of a parent or sibling. No child should have to face that kind of pain alone, and with your support, they won’t have to.
At Stand-by-me Bereavement Support, we walk beside grieving children and young people in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage, providing free, specialist, and life-changing support. Our work is built on compassion, evidence-based practice, and years of experience. Now, we’re inviting businesses to stand with us.
We’re proud to introduce the Stand-by-me Business Champion Programme.
Stand-by-me Bereavement Support, a respected North Hertfordshire and Stevenage charity, is inviting local companies to join its Business Champion programme, a unique partnership opportunity enabling businesses to directly impact the lives of bereaved children, young people, and their families.
Through the Business Champion initiative, organisations become key supporters by committing a regular monthly donation (typically £100). This crucial funding sustains the charity’s specialist group programmes, one-to-one sessions, and telephone support line, ensuring bereaved families continue receiving professional, compassionate care at the times they need it most.
Business Champions enable Stand-by-me to:
- Keep group sessions, memory-making activities, and school-based support available across the community.
- Reduce waiting times, so help is accessible without delay for those facing recent loss.
- Maintain a high standard of care and offer ongoing training and resources for local schools and professionals, extending the reach of their impact.
The impact is truly life-changing. Children and young people gain safe spaces to share, process grief, and develop coping skills, while parents and carers access advice and post-group counselling when navigating loss. Feedback from families regularly highlights the difference this support makes: “It was so helpful for my daughter to know she wasn’t alone…we are so grateful and blessed to have been supported by Stand-by-me”.
