Super Santa run smashes fundraising target

For most of us, the idea of going for a run on a chilly December morning may not feel particularly tempting, But one local Stand-by-me supporter took on the winter weather in a festive advent challenge.
Local teacher Tom Rance, swapped his advent calendar chocolates for trainers in aid of Stand-by-me in the run up to Christmas, running 2.5km every day throughout December, all while dressed in a full Santa costume.
Tom, who is also a manager for Hitchin Belles Female Football Club, had originally hoped to raise around £250 for his efforts, however, he more than tripled that goal and raised more than £1500, all of which will go towards
supporting bereaved children, young people and their families in North Herts and Stevenage.
