Hitchin Lodge Supports Stand-by-me
On Tuesday 3rd June 2025, members of Hitchin Lodge No. 6561 proudly presented a cheque for £1,778 to Stand-by-me to support us in providing vital bereavement support for children and families in Hitchin and the surrounding area.
The presentation was made by Ed Smith, Andy Nicholls, Dan Styles and Mike Daly, who were warmly welcomed by Jane Walton, Community Volunteer Lead, and Stacey, Community Volunteer, on behalf of Stand-by-me.
This generous donation was the result of the incredible fundraising efforts during Ed Smith’s year (2024) as Worshipful Master. Throughout his term, funds were raised through charitable collections and raffles held at the festive board, with lodge members and visitors showing wonderful generosity in support of this cause.
Jane Walton expressed heartfelt thanks on behalf of the charity, highlighting how meaningful this donation will be in helping Stand-by-me continue its work supporting children through the challenges of grief and loss.
The team at Stand-by-me are extremely grateful to Hitchin Lodge No. 6561 for their kindness and commitment to the community. This gift will make a real difference in the lives of local children and their families.
