Say Hello to our New Team Members
We are delighted to introduce two new members of the Stand-by-me team.
First, a very warm welcome to Alison, who joins us as our new Director.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining Stand-by-me at such an important time in the charity’s journey and to have the opportunity to help shape and support its future. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about improving support and outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and families, and I am looking forward to working alongside such a dedicated team and community.
Over the past 30+ years, my career has spanned mental health nursing, healthcare leadership, social enterprise, charitable foundations, and commercial healthcare innovation. Most recently, during more than a decade in NHS Executive Leadership roles as Chief Commercial Officer, I led commercial enterprise, contracts, funding, and operations, while also establishing grant-giving charitable initiatives and accredited social enterprises.
What drew me to Stand-by-me is the incredible impact the charity has on bereaved children and young people across our community. I’m excited to help continue developing the charity’s strategy, strengthen fundraising opportunities, and support the team in delivering vital bereavement services for families who need them most.”
We are also thrilled to welcome Rachel as our new Bereavement Support Manager.
“I am so excited to be joining the wonderful team at Stand-by-me. I have been working with schools and bereavement charities since 2015; as a counsellor and most recently as the Service Lead for the South Team at Child Bereavement UK.
I find myself constantly in awe of the wonderful families who I meet through my work and am really looking forward to working more closely with the schools and professionals who provide bereaved children with that hugely important immediate support.”
We are so pleased to have Alison and Rachel join the Stand-by-me family and cannot wait for our community, families, schools, and supporters to get to know them both over the coming months.
