Stand-by-me Celebrates Incredible Fundraising Success of Local Marathon and Half Marathon Runners

Supporters, runners, friends and families gathered recently at Knebworth Golf Club for a wonderful evening celebrating the amazing achievements of Stand-by-me’s London Landmarks Half Marathon and London Marathon runners.

The event brought together participants who took on the challenging London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12th April, alongside our dedicated TCS London Marathon runners on 26th April, to reflect on their experiences, share stories from race day and celebrate their incredible fundraising success.

It was lovely to meet Kaleigh and Sam, our London Landmarks Half Marathon runners, and to spend time with their enthusiastic cheering squads too. Our London Marathon runners, Abbie, Cole, Johnathan and Vicky, also attended with their friends and family, making the evening a truly special occasion filled with laughter, encouragement and plenty of race-day memories.

Although we were sorry that Hayley, James and Sian were unable to join the celebration, we are incredibly thankful for their commitment, determination and support throughout their training and fundraising journeys.

The weather certainly brought the heat, but thankfully Knebworth Golf Club had everything covered with the comfort of the air-conditioned conservatory and a delicious buffet dinner enjoyed by everyone.

We are so proud of each and every one of our runners for the time, energy and commitment they dedicated to training and fundraising. Together, they raised an incredible £14,782.00, which will help Stand-by-me continue supporting bereaved children and young people across our local community.

For anyone feeling inspired to take on a challenge of their own, we already have places available for the London Landmarks Half Marathon and TCS London Marathon. To apply, visit the Events and Challenges section of our website at www.stand-by-me.org.uk.
